As of late February, high resolution images of the American Folk Art Museum‘s permanent collection are available on ARTstor.

ARTstor, a digital library of images, currently lists more than 1,500 photographs from the museum, whose collection includes both traditional American folk art and work by self-taught artists.

As a scholar, I am thrilled that a collection of self-taught material has made it to the ARTstor catalog. I have long had trouble locating good photographs of works in our field, and this partnership will make self-taught art more accessible to both teachers and students.
